As for it waiting 'til it warm, to move, ensure that the transmission oil level is correct. Sitting overnight it should be over full. Started and running, after cycling thru all the gears, forward and reverse, it should be at the cold full mark. At 150F tranny oil temp, it should be at the hot full mark.
1962 Hough 30G
Well bad news, I began to move it across the driveway in four wheel drive and then stopped, put it into neutral, then disengaged the 4x4 drive..then put into forward and it didn't move.. or even try to move. I put into Reverse but also didn't move. It was like the transmission never switched out of Neutral.

510C dresser transmission fluid
We just recently purchased a 510C loader for the farm. I am changing all filters and oil. The transmission oil has a reddish color to it and the decal on the machine says to use a HDTF (heavy duty transmission fluid). It gives no other info. What is the correct fluid for the transmission in this loader. I'm new to this forum.

Dresser 520C transmission problems
I put the oil companies "house brand" in and never had problems. This transmission has a tag on it, I forget the brand name, but it says made in Japan. I've never had a problem with it. I also have an older IH loader (530). That book says to use 10W Engine Oil (IH#1 I believe) in the transmission, It says nothing about HyTran.

The machine is equipped with a four speed transmission and has a reversing lever, so there are four forward and four backward gears. The reversing lever seems to work correctly. There's a relay in there for the transmission. The problem has got worse lately. Once the gear lever is in forward it takes around 10 secs to move. It tends to do it more when it's warm though. If I put my finger on the transmission relay and engage gear, the relay only clicks in when its decided to move, not when you engage gear.
